The Hair Cut

So I did it...I got my hair cut. It was hard to do but I was glad that I was able to donate it to kids (www.locksoflove.com). I went to the salon alone and was so nervous (kind of like I am right now for the SAINTS game). Joy (my hair cutter) was so nice and did it quickly and painlessly. Now my hair is 14 inches shorter but will be perfect for traveling (it takes A LOT less shampoo and brushing!)

LUGGAGE!

Christmas was good to Shawn and I this year. We got some much needed luggage for our trip (thanks Dad and Tina) and I also got the most fabulous travel purse ever (thanks mom). We also got other odds and ends that will help make this trip happen! Now on to figuring out what to bring and how to make it all fit! AAAAGH!

We bought our tickets!

We officially bought our tickets around the world. It was very exciting because it made our trip feel a little more real. We are not leaving until February 9 (just in case we need to go to Miami for a Feb. 7 Superbowl!) Our itinerary is as follows: Fiji, New Zealand (North and South Islands), Australia (and Tasmania), Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Nepal, India, Abu Dhabi (and Dubai), Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Monaco, Germany, Sweden, Scotland, and Iceland! If anyone has any tips about these places, let us know. A lot of where we are going and what we are doing is because of friend recommendations!

SHOTS!!!

I have considered cancelling this trip because I do NOT want to get shots! I have a huge fear of needles and I rather cancel the trip than get poked with one. Nonetheless, I got the shots. After a huge ordeal with my doctor, I ended up taking a mixture of meds (not recommended) and arriving at the travel clinic with Shawn. Even with all of that stuff, I was still crying and refusing the shots. The travel clinic doctor finally gave up and prescribed me something to calm me and we rescheduled. When Shawn went to get the car though, I finally fell asleep (thinking I wasn't getting the shots anymore) and he brought me back into that clinic where I continues to nap on the doctor bed. The nurse then came in and gave me my shots while I slumbered. I am so glad that they are finally over and that Shawn and the nurse were so patient with me!

And, to applaud my bravery (or the fact that I did not die from the meds I took) my mom sent me flowers and Shawn got me a Halloween costume.

Shots...check. Now I have to figure out how to pack!

Welcome to our new blog page!

I decided that it would be easier for Shawn and I to share a site for our travels so we are only posting things once! Enjoy!
